UnsilentNight

Wilmington, Delaware

Hosted by Rob Pfeiffer, Lou Migliore, and Judith Schneider

Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/315174972428675/

This is a free event! Come walk on Market Street, starting at Rodney Square and be part of a unique orchestral soundscape with friends, neighbors and strangers who will become friends, and you don’t even play an instrument! Charge up your smartphones and portable speakers and be a part of something beautiful and unique!

We did this last year thanks to Mark Mobley. We miss him as he moved to Athens Georgia, so Lou Migliore, Judith Schneider and I are taking up the charge! It was an ethereal and absolutely beautiful time.

“Phil Kline’s Unsilent Night is an original composition written specifically to be heard outdoors in the month of December. It takes the form of a street procession in which the line between participant/audience/performer blurs.... and a moment of beauty and resonance is shared as we walk.”

This year, we’ll start at Rodney Square and walk down Market Street and back, maybe hit a couple of side streets, too. The sound will echo off the buildings, and under the twinkley lights it should be lovely! This is free family and kid friendly event and all are welcome. The piece lasts 45 minutes and we want to collect and be ready to start together. I guarantee you’ve never done something like this, and you’ll be glad you did it or your money back! I did mention that this is free, didn’t I? :D
By far the easiest way to do this is to download one of the four tracks of music from the website onto a smartphone or some sort of player, then play it through some sort of portable speaker, Bluetooth or whateva! Ha, I even figured it out last year. It is best to have some volume.

“Each participant prepares with one of four tracks of music. Together all four tracks comprise Unsilent Night.
Participants carry boomboxes, portable speakers, or other formats to play and amplify the music. Please prepare in advance by figuring out how you will play your part of the music, and downloading the player or tracks as needed:

When it’s time to roll, we all push start on our rigs and let the music unfold.

Do it!
